Tablet

Classification/Broad: Writing

Classification/Specific: Tablet

Material/Broad: Clay

Material/Specific: Clay, Baked

Measurements: 34 x 34 x 16 mm

Description: Tablet inscribed with a receipt for barely. Ur-PAP.MU-ra receives 70 gur (252,000 liters) of barley from UŠ?-sa6-ga. A storehouse (ga2-nun-na) is mentioned. A fragmentary line mentions a dub-sar "scribe." Dated to month a2-ki-ti, Šulgi 35. A2-ki-ti was month 3 at Adab; though this name was also used at Drehem, Ur, and Garšana, it was not used at Girsu. The provenience of Adab assigned by Oriental Institute records is likely therefore accurate.
